Statement from University of Oregon Vice President for Student Affairs Robin Holmes regarding the Erb Memorial Union renovation project
The university is currently assessing the size and scope of the Erb Memorial Union renovation project and the impact on student fees. It is important to us that students feel they have enough information before being asked to vote on this project, and that we minimize as much as possible the impact on our students’ costs to attend the university.
The University of Oregon made a mistake when it contracted with a marketing firm to assist in an effort to expand and renovate the EMU. Students and others were correct and appropriate in raising this concern. The contract with the firm has been terminated.
I am committed to keeping our campus partners and others informed as we move forward.Back to Blog Home
